Repeater Bridge Mode
A repeater bridge merges the functions of a repeater and a dumb AP. In this mode, the mini router acts solely as a relay, connecting all your devices to your main router without functioning as a gateway or DHCP server. This setup is ideal for extending your signal range.
There are two primary methods to establish a repeater bridge: WDS (built into wireless drivers) and software relayd.
WDS
WDS mode is integrated into the default firmware. The user interface is straightforward: select your main SSID to bridge, enter your password, and choose WDS. It is advisable to set a LAN IP for accessing the mini router later. If you don't specify a LAN IP, it will use DHCP to obtain an IP from the main router.
Two critical points to consider:
1. Main Router Compatibility: Your main router must support WDS; otherwise, the setup will fail. If WDS is not supported, you will need to perform a factory reset to regain access to the mini router. Check your main router's manual for WDS support.
2. LAN IP Configuration: When setting the LAN IP, ensure it matches your main router's subnet. For instance, if your main router's IP is 192.168.1.1, the mini router's IP should be in the format 192.168.1.x, where "x" is a unique number not already used by another device on the network.

Relayd
If your devices do not support WDS, you will need to use software relayd to achieve a similar network setup. This method can be more complex, but a detailed guide is available.
The images in the guide might be slightly outdated and may not match the latest firmware exactly. The general process involves setting up a WISP repeater mode and then using relayd to bridge the two networks. For complete instructions, refer to the documentation linked below.
