Hong Kong, July 2, 2024 – Many users have inquired about the compatibility of Google Fi's 4G LTE service with ZBT's 4G routers, including models like ZBT-MiFi and Spitz (ZBT-X750) 4G LTE routers. The answer is a resounding YES!
Google Fi, a wireless phone plan integrating the latest in Google technology, offers unlimited calls and texts within the US at a competitive monthly rate. Data usage costs $10/GB domestically and in over 170 international destinations, with subsequent data usage being free based on your plan's specifics. Google Fi includes 24/7 support and requires no contractual obligations.
Activating Google Fi service necessitates using their dedicated app, a step that cannot be completed directly on ZBT routers. However, once the service is activated on your phone, including obtaining a valid phone number and successfully browsing webpages, you can seamlessly use the SIM card on ZBT-MiFi and Spitz (ZBT-X750) 4G LTE routers. Note that Google Fi exclusively provides nano SIMs, requiring a suitable SIM kit to adapt it to micro SIM size.
We conducted the activation process using an iPhone 5S. Simply follow the step-by-step instructions within the app, available for download here.
Upon successful activation, insert the Google Fi SIM card into a ZBT-MiFi or Spitz (ZBT-X750) 4G LTE router and power it on. For instance, we used the ZBT-X750C4-A model equipped with the Quectel EC25-AF 4G LTE modem, tailored for North American users.
Connect to the router wirelessly or via Ethernet cable, then access the web admin panel through http://192.168.8.1. The 4G LTE service will be detected as T-Mobile or Sprint, typical carriers utilized by Google Fi. Verify this using AT commands to confirm operation under Google Fi.
To begin enjoying the 4G network, simply click "Start." Upon successful connection, the button will indicate "Disconnect," and your data statistics will reflect the active connection.
