New Tor Firmware for ZBT-AR150 and ZBT-6416 Router | An Example



The latest Tor firmware, based on OpenWrt CC1505, now features the Domino Web UI for effortless network configuration adjustments.

How to Use:

 

- SSID "tor" or LAN connection: Routes through the Tor anonymity network.
- SSID "OpenWrt": Provides a normal internet connection. If "OpenWrt" is not visible, check the router’s button and switch settings.

 


Buttons and LEDs:


- For ZBT-6416:
- Pressing the button toggles the SSID "OpenWrt" on or off.
- For ZBT-AR150:
- Pressing the button toggles both "Tor" and "OpenWrt" WiFi on or off.
- Switch left: Turns off SSID "OpenWrt".
- Switch right: Turns on SSID "OpenWrt".
- Middle LED: Indicates the Tor service status (must be lit to confirm Tor is running).

 

 

 


 Tips:

- Change SSID and key after the initial setup.
- Turn off SSID "OpenWrt" after configuring the router. For ZBT-6416, press the reset button. For ZBT-AR150, move the switch to the left.

 

 

 


Troubleshooting:

 


For ZBT-6416:

1. No SSID "OpenWrt" and "Tor":
- Solution: Press the reset button once or hold it for 8 seconds to revert to factory settings.
2. Cannot connect to any website:
- Solution: Wait for the router to connect to Tor or use SSID "OpenWrt" to configure at [192.168.8.1](http://192.168.8.1).
3. Cannot access [192.168.8.1](http://192.168.8.1):
- Solution: Access is unavailable via "Tor" or LAN; connect to SSID "OpenWrt".
4. Cannot connect to Tor network:
- Solution: Ensure connection to SSID "Tor" or LAN; verify internet access by connecting to "OpenWrt" and setting up at [192.168.8.1](http://192.168.8.1). Tor network stabilization may take time.

 


 For ZBT-AR150:

1. No SSID "OpenWrt":
- Solution: Move the switch to the right to enable "OpenWrt". If "Tor" is also unavailable, press the reset button.
2. No SSID "OpenWrt" and "Tor":
- Solution: Press the reset button to toggle WiFi or hold for 8 seconds to revert to factory settings. Ensure the right LED is on to confirm WiFi is active.
3. Cannot access [192.168.8.1](http://192.168.8.1):
- Solution: Access is unavailable via "Tor" or LAN; connect to SSID "OpenWrt".
4. Cannot connect to Tor network:
- Solution: Ensure connection to SSID "Tor" or LAN; verify internet access by connecting to "OpenWrt" and setting up at [192.168.8.1](http://192.168.8.1). The middle LED must be on, indicating Tor process status. Network stabilization may take time.
